The grant programme WE CREATE SPACE provides an opportunity for active people to implement their own ideas and projects to improve public spaces in Ostrava and support community life within the city.
The programme is open to applications from private individuals (non-commercial natural persons) and non-state non-profit organizations active within the Czech Republic: associations, institutions, public benefit organizations, foundations, housing cooperative associations, and housing owners’ associations.
Basic information
The City of Ostrava has launched its 7th annual grant programme We Create Space, which funds projects that aim to improve public spaces and support local communities.
The programme exists to provide funding for projects throughout the city of Ostrava.
A key aspect of the project is that it enables members of the public to become directly involved in planning, implementing and ensuring the sustainability of projects that benefit local communities.
How does the programme work?
Projects submitted for the programme undergo a process of evaluation in three rounds. The evaluation committee assesses all submitted projects not only in terms of their aesthetic value and practical usefulness, but also with a focus on ensuring that local communities are directly involved in implementing the projects; this is one of the essential requirements for a project to receive funding.
For the first round of the evaluation process, you simply need to send us your project plans and budget.
In the second round, you will need to personally present your project plans and discuss them with the programme's evaluation committee.
If your project makes it through to the third and final round of the evaluation process, you will need to send us your complete funding application, including all the mandatory supporting documentation. If your application is approved, you will receive the funding.
